With the theme “Design Solves Problems,” Shenzhen Design Week 2021 showcased the practical and innovative value of design in problem-solving, with the main venue located at UpperHills. As a key program within the “Design · Guochao” segment of Shenzhen Design Week 2021, China TDC 2021—under the theme “Typography in Use”—responded to the idea of “design solving problems” by carrying forward the essence of traditional Chinese culture, drawing from contemporary urban cultural elements, and exploring how typography is applied in concrete ways across society and everyday life.
The key visual for China TDC 2021 was developed around “Using of Type.” Responding to the exhibition’s unique context—staged inside a shopping mall—it offers the public a more open and playful visual experience.
