Grid Coffee, a specialty brand dedicated exclusively to single-origin beans, has introduced a new retail line so that customers can enjoy café-quality coffee at home.
Having previously developed Grid Coffee's brand identity and visual system—establishing it as an iconic presence in specialty coffee—UDL now introduces packaging for the retail bean collection under the concept of "Flavor Archives," seamlessly extending the brand's distinctive design language. Anchored in the dual dimensions of nature and flavor, the design serves as a bridge connecting each origin's unique terroir with the consumer's sensory experience.
The material choice of kraft paper returns to natural textures, reinforcing the authentic character of the coffee beans. Central to the design is an archival label system featuring vibrant color blocks as flavor indices—an evolution of Grid Coffee's existing flavor cards and label strips, now transformed into a systematic visual language. Each color corresponds to specific origins, processing methods, and taste profiles, with every hue offering a subtle preview of the coffee's character. The interchangeable label stickers enable flexible store updates while naturally creating an organized, clearly categorized archival display system. The act of peeling open the seal reveals unique, unrepeatable details with each opening.
From material selection through the "Flavor Archives" concept to the unboxing experience, UDL's design strikes a delicate balance between natural authenticity and urban sophistication—honoring the beans' organic heritage while delivering the precision and professionalism expected in contemporary coffee culture.
