Recently, UDL founding partner Ding Fan was invited to take part in “Layered Blue,” a door curtain poster exhibition by Songmont, presenting the commissioned work 1. A Room, 2. A Table, 3. Half a Glass of Wine in response to the exhibition’s theme.

Presented at Songmont Space Beijing, “Layered Blue” is a parallel exhibition to Songmont’s 2026 Brand Exhibition, “Innerscape · Innerwild.” Taking the Chinese door curtain as its creative medium, the exhibition invites a group of creators to draw from memory and personal experience, each recording a meaningful moment.

Suspended between inside and outside, arrival and departure, the door curtain holds the warmth of everyday returns and departures. In traditional craftsmanship from China’s Central Plains, fabric takes on new forms through patching and stitching; thread becomes a way of connecting time, generations, and lived experience, allowing memory to gather again among fragments of cloth.
